Governor Ron Desantis Announcement at Everglades Holiday Park
During a Press Conference held at Everglades Holiday Park, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of ‘Alligator Ron’ Bergeron to the South Florida Water Management District governing board. Bergeron is a former Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissioner and he explained the importance of working to preserve the Florida Everglades during the announcement.
DeSantis ensured the public that protection of the historic waters will be at the forefront of efforts moving forward. “We are having a historic $625 million for water resources project including Everglades restoration,” DeSantis said. These recommended water resource funds will go a long way in ensuring that the Everglades is actively being saved.

DeSantis explained that there will be more budget funds that will go towards helping the environment. Floridians can expect to see more restoration and preservation efforts taking place as the Everglades is being made a priority. With this announcement, DeSantis is committed to restoring and protecting all Florida families, businesses, and the Florida environment.
