Where the Gators Are – Everglades Holiday Park Florida
For devoted fans of the Gator Boys from Animal Planet, there’s no question, Everglades Holiday Park in Florida is the place to be for viewing alligators. The good work of the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue began at the park and the world-famous “Gator Pit” is where many of the rescued alligators featured on the show will live out the rest of their lives. But did you know that the park is also one of the most exciting family fun destinations in South Florida? With hour-long airboat rides, gorgeous grounds to meet and greet with Everglades wildlife and the best live alligator shows around, Everglades Holiday Park is the place to be for adventure!
Co-existing With Alligators Is a Way of Life In Florida
The Sunshine State may be known for its picture-perfect beaches and stunning coastline, but it’s the alligators that get all of the attention! American alligators, or “gators”, as locals call them, have been coexisting with Floridians for decades, and inhabiting Florida’s swamplands for centuries! While Everglades Holiday Park is probably one of the safest places to see a live alligator, it certainly isn’t the only place. In fact, alligators turn up pretty much everywhere throughout Florida, even on residents’ doorsteps from time to time! Coexisting with alligators is a way of life in South Florida, but tourists, outdoor enthusiasts, and even wildlife photographers know the best place to see these amazing reptiles is in their natural habitat – the Everglades.
The Gator Boys Alligator Rescue at Everglades Holiday Park, Florida
Paul and the gang created the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue at Everglades Holiday Park for a few different reasons. As a Gator Boy, Paul’s admiration and respect for alligators are unparalleled, and it didn’t seem right that so many of these gorgeous creatures were being captured and harmed simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Everglades Holiday Park provides a safe haven – a sort of “gator hotel” for the different alligators who are captured and caught snooping around residential areas like swimming pools, backyard lakes, etc. When the boys return with a gator, the park is happy to provide him or her a home – in return for helping us educate guests on the importance of the Everglades and its wild inhabitants.
Visiting the Park for an Airboat Tour and Live Gator Show
