Everglades Holiday Park: The best place to see alligators in Florida
It’s that time of year again, when families look forward to visiting the Sunshine State for a little well deserved R&R. It’s been a long, hard winter for many, and it’s high time to let off some steam with a few days of fun in the sun. If you’re planning to take the family down south for a vacation and wondering where the best place to see alligators in Florida is, you’re in luck. While it’s easier than ever to spot a few reptiles (sometimes even when you’re not expecting one) Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale is the only place in Florida where you can see alligators and the infamous Gator Boys from Animal Planet fame. Here’s what to expect from a day at the park.
Educational and Entertaining Tours
An airboat ride through the Everglades is one of those “must-do” experiences that leaves you with a new appreciation for nature and wildlife. If you’ve never experienced a flat bottom vessel like an airboat, you simply must give it a whirl. Unlike traditional boats, airboats are propelled by – you guessed it – air. That’s why an they are a unique thrill. They’re able to journey through shallow, murky water without getting stuck, something no other boat can promise. The best place to see alligators in Florida is the Everglades, and a tour puts you front and center with them – literally.
Meet and Greet Photo Session with Everglades Wildlife
Have you ever held a tegu? How about a boa? With scores of Everglades wildlife available to touch and experience, Everglades Holiday Park’s Animal Encounters exhibit is tons of fun. Hosted by Ashley Lawrence of the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue, guests can meet all kinds of interesting critters, and even pose for a picture with a favorite. The perfect souvenir and showpiece for the mantle, Everglades animals are awesome up close, and kids delight in the experience.
Exciting Live Alligator Shows Featuring the Gator Boys
In Florida, gator shows are about as common as sunshine, but only Everglades Holiday Park features the actual Gator Boys from the hit reality show. Live shows are included with the price of an airboat tour, and are an excellent way to learn more about Florida’s most prized reptile. The guys and girls entertain the crowd with exciting stunts but they also showcase the gentle and humorous side of the American alligator – a side few people understand or see. Shows are about 25 minutes long, but everyone leaves with a greater appreciation and respect for the Everglades most iconic resident. Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale is easily the best place to see alligators in Florida. With narrated tours, live shows and the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue team, it’s tough to beat a few hours of exploration, animals and genuine fun. This entry was posted in Everglades Holiday Park Blog,
